I take advantage of many online platforms for my lessons. I include engaging lessons that meet different learning styles. I begin with talking with the student and listening to their needs and expectations of the lesson.
This example of a lesson would address a 9th grade student that is trying to pass the Algebra I milestone.
1. Warm - Up (Engaging review from previous lessons) (5 minutes)
2. Review warm-up and allow students to ask questions. (5 minutes)
3.Direct teaching of the lesson (10 minutes)
a. Use online platforms or document camera to teach how to factor a quadratic using the X-Method.
b. Give students time to ask questions before moving on.
4. Provide an online lesson using Khan Academy or Quizizz to enrich/remediate the lesson. I will be able to monitor progress during this lesson. (15 minutes)
5. Assign an independent lesson on a digital platform that I can monitor progress while student is working. (20 minutes)
6. Go over missed questions and address student concerns. (5 minutes)
