About Tanish
I am currently a Year 10 student at Kambrya College in Berwick with a strong passion for mathematics and academic excellence. Throughout my schooling, I have received multiple academic awards and participated in advanced enrichment programs such as VHAP Maths. Additionally, I was part of the Enrichment Program (like SEAL) at Brentwod Secondary College (Year7 - 8), but had to leave when I relocated to Berwick and started in Kambrya. As an enrichment student, I was accelerated in Maths one full year ahead and because of this, have a strong grasp on the fundamentals needed for success in Mathematics.
I have twice earned the Top 10% Achiever Award in the Australasian Problem Solving Mathematical Olympiad (APSMO), placing me among the top-performing mathematics students across Australasia. These achievements reflect not only my strong mathematical ability, but also my dedication, problem-solving skills, and commitment to learning.
Beyond my own studies, I have extensive experience helping classmates and younger students understand challenging mathematical concepts in a clear and supportive way. I believe that every student is capable of improving in mathematics when given the right guidance, patience, and encouragement. My goal as a tutor is to build both confidence and understanding, helping students achieve strong academic results while developing a genuine appreciation for mathematics.

I believe that the best way for students to learn is by overlooking their past mistakes and practicing specific skills to avoid those mistakes in the future. This is especially true for maths and I know from personal experience that the only way to excel at maths is to put in lots of practice until you are perfect. My teaching style involves guiding students through their working out so that they are able to see the mistake that they made and then correcting them so they have a firm understanding of how to solve the problem and other similar problems. These strategies will be put into effect thoroughly in lessons with a span of roughly 1 - 2 hours depending on preference. As a year 10 student I am able to teach students from prep to year 7 that are having trouble with understanding mathematical concepts or calculations.

I teach Tanish Year 10 Math Methods in school, and he is doing exceptionally well in the subject. He supports his peers and explains concepts well. Tanish is polite, respectful and responsible. He gets along well with everyone, and I believe he is a good fit for a tutoring role.
I’ve known Tanish for a long time and he has always been willing to help me with any sort of maths problem when I’m struggling. The most valuable thing about him is he doesn’t rush you and teaches at your pace. I would highly recommend learning from him!
When I first started high school.. Maths was a very difficult topic for me. Classes felt long and boring. My scores were dropping. I was worried. My parents were worried. But then, around early 2025, I met Tanish. He willingly taught me concepts that seemed impossible through engaging and fun methods. He helped me not just to understand the content, but also helped me revise and study for exams. I went from barely getting a 50 to averaging 90 effortlessly, through his teaching techniques. His confidence, mixed with his support to get to know you and your strengths and weaknesses, makes him a top-notch tutor. I easily recommend him to anyone who is taking maths!
