About Maria
Hi! My name is Maria, and I’m a science student at the University of Western Australia. I’ve always loved learning, especially subjects like biology, chemistry, math, and algebra, and I enjoy helping others understand them too. I started tutoring because I genuinely believe that learning can be enjoyable and empowering when explained in the right way. I’ve worked with both young children (Years 1–3) and high school students (Years 7–12), and I love seeing the moment when something “clicks” for them — it’s the most rewarding part of teaching! I want to teach because I know how overwhelming school can feel sometimes, and I’m here to support students with patience, encouragement, and clear explanations. Whether you're trying to improve your marks, prepare for an exam, or simply gain confidence in a subject, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

As a UWA science student with a strong academic background, I focus on making complex topics simple, engaging, and easy to understand. I adapt each lesson to suit the student’s learning style — using step-by-step problem solving, visual aids, and real-world examples to keep learning fun and effective.
I have experience tutoring both younger children (Years 1–3) in foundational math and science, as well as high school students (Years 7–12) in subjects like biology, chemistry, algebra, and general mathematics. I adjust my teaching approach depending on age and ability, creating a supportive environment where students feel confident to ask questions and grow.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, and I offer both in-person sessions in Perth and online tutoring. Whether your child needs help with basics or you're preparing for exams, I’m here to help every step of the way.
