About Shayli
I am a highly motivated and high-performing A-level graduate from Hills Road Sixth Form College, UK’s highest-performing and highest-ranking sixth-form college. I have always been committed to developing a thorough understanding of my subjects and enjoy sharing this knowledge with others. I have supported friends and fellow students with their studies, helping them understand challenging concepts and improve their academic performance. As part of a school volunteering programme, I also mentored a Year 12 student while I was in Year 13, supporting them with Maths, Biology and Chemistry and explaining concepts they found difficult. I found this extremely rewarding and developed my ability to communicate ideas clearly and patiently.
Outside of academics, I enjoy exploring different interests and learning new skills. I play the Persian musical instrument Qanun, enjoy painting, and love learning new languages and discovering different cultures. I also previously played basketball for my college team. I believe these experiences have helped me become an adaptable, patient and enthusiastic person who genuinely enjoys helping others learn and progress.

My lessons are structured, engaging and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on developing a thorough and lasting understanding of the subject, breaking down challenging concepts step-by-step and making complex topics easier to understand. Lessons will combine clear explanations, active discussion, guided practice and exam-style questions to help students confidently apply what they have learnt. I also incorporate effective exam technique, including understanding mark schemes and developing clear, well-structured answers, while ensuring that genuine understanding always comes first. My aim is to make every lesson productive, interactive, encouraging and enjoyable, helping students become more confident, independent and capable learners.
