About Ruby
Hi, I'm Ruby, an enthusiastic English tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Having achieved A grades in English Literature, I understand the skills, techniques, and exam strategies needed to excel in the subject.
I pride myself on being patient, approachable, and reliable. Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit individual learning styles, strengths, and areas for improvement. My goal is not only to help students achieve better grades but also to build their confidence and enjoyment of English.
Lessons are carefully planned and focused on clear progress, whether students need support with essay writing, text analysis, coursework, revision, or exam preparation. I create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills at their own pace.

My teaching approach is friendly, patient, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I believe that confidence is key to success in English, so I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are structured around the student's goals, whether that is improving essay writing, strengthening literary analysis, preparing for exams, or building overall confidence in English Language and Literature. I use a combination of guided practice, discussion, model answers, and exam-focused techniques to help students understand concepts clearly and apply them effectively.
I achieved A grades in English Literature and have a strong academic background in both English Literature and English Language. Through my own experience of succeeding in these subjects, I understand what examiners are looking for and can help students develop the skills needed to achieve top grades.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE students of all abilities, from those looking to improve their understanding of key texts to high-achieving students aiming for the highest grades. I adapt my teaching style to each learner, ensuring lessons are engaging, productive, and focused on measurable progress.
