My approach is to not stress about Math but also face the facts about where student is at and start making progress. No judgement from the teacher. It can be like AA. Admit I have a problem in Math then do something about it :) You can do this!

I also have student do a Diagnostic test on IXL to understand strengths and weaknesses in Math.
We work on current assignments while also trying to go back and strengthen weak Math areas using IXL.
Build confidence over time and have fun.
Can work with Grades 4-12 and some College Math.
