About Dr Simon
A Doctor of English literature, and I'm fun! As a CELTA-qualified EFL teacher, 18 years of experience teaching English language, literature and creative writing at universities and colleges. My most recent student was predicted straight A's: I taught him from being a low-performing English student, to getting top marks; he is one of many success stories I have had to privilege to co-create. I have 10 years experience planning and delivering specialised one-to-one tutorials for students of different backgrounds, in English literature and creative writing, from year 9 to university level. I'm hard-working and approachable, enjoying a lively classroom, with a good mixture of fun, laughter, and serious learning, where the aims are objectives are clear, and we work toward them together.
