Lydia is a very talented player of multiple instruments, notably flute, but it is as a teacher that she is especially gifted. I have been lucky enough ro play alongside Lydia for several years, and have great respect for her both as a musician and as a teacher but particularly as a friendly, honest and supportive person. Lydia is an outstanding teacher. She taught my daughter both the flute and the trumpet
(Dropped the flute to concentrate on the trumpet) from 2013-14. My daughter is quite fussy when it comes to people but she loved Lydia, ended up doing her grade 4 exam after only 18 months. Sadly, I moved to Gloucestershire in 2016, and my daughter didn’t get on with any of the trumpet teachers - she missed Lydia - and she dropped playing.
Lydia is passionate about music and this shines through when she teaches. She is patient, kind and when she needs to be firm but she does it in such a way with humour and patience, that it encourages and inspires her pupil. An outstanding teacher.

Lydia was my first music teacher and she is solely responsible for giving me the love for flute and saxophone that I have today! She made learning so fun and enjoyable that music lessons with her never even felt like a ‘lesson’ - more like hanging out with a friend who happens to be really good at teaching!

I have known Lydia for many years and as a fellow tutor she has given me pupils when she had an overflow and I can say she is a wonderful tutor and professional player in her own right. I have learned much from her teaching ability, making sure all pupils learn in a fun and creative way as well as helping them achieve grades. She is professional, kind and her knowledge of several instruments and her years of experience and theory give her a large scope to be able to pass on. I would recommend her very highly to teach anyone adults and children alike. Also her use of stickers is legendary!
