About Charlotte
I’ve always had a genuine love for maths – I enjoy the challenge of problem-solving and the satisfaction of seeing how numbers and patterns fit together. Achieving an A at A-Level strengthened that passion, and tutoring has shown me how rewarding it is to help others see the beauty and logic in the subject. With my background in psychology, I also understand how mindset affects learning, and I’m excited to inspire students both in the classroom and through tutoring to feel confident and even enjoy maths.

I offer a free 20 minute consultation with both parents and the student to see if we will be a good fit and discuss what the goals of our time together will be. In our first session, I will carry out an assessment to identify your strengths and any areas that need extra support. From there, I design lessons tailored to you, using a proven method called spaced repetition — this means we revisit key topics at regular intervals rather than cramming them once, which helps the brain retain information for the long term.
A typical one-hour session starts with a few short questions to check your recall of previous topics, followed by a 30–40 minute focused lesson on the agreed topic, and finishes with practice questions and feedback. This frequent recall not only helps knowledge stick but also builds your confidence as you see your progress over time.
I’m kind and patient, and my goal is to help students realise their potential for themselves rather than just being told what to do. If students and parents want additional homework for extra practice, I’m happy to set it. My approach combines solid exam preparation with the encouragement students need to believe they can succeed.
