Hello! I’m Josh, a passionate and experienced Physics and Mathematics tutor with a Master’s degree in Physics from Oxford University and over 5 years of teaching experience. I am deeply committed to helping students of all ages and levels build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve their academic goals in both subjects.
My journey into teaching started with a fascination for how the world works at its most fundamental level—an interest that led me to study Physics at one of the world’s leading universities. While at Oxford, I not only deepened my understanding of complex physical principles but also developed the skills to communicate difficult concepts in a clear and approachable way. After completing my Master’s degree, I decided to share my passion for these subjects through tutoring, and I haven’t looked back since.
I believe that learning should be a dynamic and interactive experience, not just about memorising facts or formulas. My teaching philosophy revolves around active learning, where students are encouraged to actively engage with the material by solving problems, asking questions, and exploring concepts. I aim to foster a positive learning environment where curiosity is nurtured, and mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth.
I’m a firm believer in the importance of building a strong foundation. Whether students are struggling with basic algebra or tackling more advanced topics, I always make sure that they understand the underlying principles before moving on to more complex material. This approach not only improves immediate performance but also enables students to approach new topics with greater confidence and independence.

My approach to tutoring focuses on creating a solid understanding of core concepts in both Physics and Mathematics. I believe that mastering the fundamentals is key to building confidence and tackling more complex problems. I use a variety of teaching techniques, including: Concept Breakdown, Active Learning, Real-World Applications and take an interactive student-lead approach.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, though I can offer longer sessions (up to 1.5–2 hours) for students who prefer more in-depth coverage of topics or wish to focus on specific areas of difficulty. The session length can be flexible based on individual needs and preferences.
I hold a Master’s degree in Physics from Oxford University, where I developed a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied physics. With over 5 years of tutoring experience, I’ve helped students at various levels, from high school to university, achieve their academic goals. My experience ranges from tutoring individual students to leading small groups, and I’m comfortable working with students preparing for exams, tackling assignments, or simply aiming to deepen their understanding of Physics and Mathematics.
I offer lessons to students of all levels, from high school through to university students pursuing undergraduate courses.
