About Aoife
The last 6 years have been spent teaching mathematics to Year 5-8 pupils, preparing them for 11+ and 13+ exams across the country, including Westminster, St Paul's, City Boys/Girls, and London Consortium schools. Pupils in my classes have received offers and scholarships from these schools and many others in the UK. I studied Primary Education (Hons) with Qualified Teacher Status at Durham University. After graduating, I worked in London prep schools for over 10 years, holding various positions, including Assistant Headteacher, Head of Years 7-8, and teaching pupils across EYFS, KS1, KS2, and KS3. A little about me beyond teaching and tutoring: I grew up on a small farm in Northern Ireland, love travelling, being active, and am currently training to run my third marathon. With a genuine love for teaching, I strive to make learning engaging and exciting for my pupils. As a result, they are motivated, and memorable learning experiences lead to positive progress and outcomes. From songs about circle geometry and pizza problems to visualise ratios, to using cake to understand fractions, or rhymes to simplify algebraic expressions, I will find a way to make it engaging. Lessons for Year 5-8 pupils needing support with 11+ and 13+ Maths. One hour sessions would be best so that we can get stuck into problems.
