About Conor
Hello, I’m Conor, a specialist tutor in GCSE and A-Level Economics, and also A-Level Maths and Business. I am a full-time teacher at an OFSTED Outstanding secondary school in South London, where I have been recognised as an Outstanding teacher, and I currently lead the Business and Economics department.
Alongside my classroom role, I oversee Economics teaching across a trust of 20 schools, working with over 1,000 students and supporting teacher development across the organisation. This means I have a deep understanding of how students learn, where they typically struggle, and what consistently leads to strong exam performance.
I graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics and Finance, and later completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership. Before entering teaching, I worked in investment banking and corporate finance, analysing large-scale transactions and developing a strong real-world understanding of Economics and Business.
I achieved A* grades in both Economics and Business at A-Level, including full marks in my final exams, and have spent over a decade tutoring students alongside my teaching career. I particularly enjoy helping students build confidence and turn understanding into high exam performance, especially when they’ve previously found the subject challenging.

My lessons are structured, calm and highly focused on helping students make real, measurable progress. I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Economics, and I also teach A-Level Maths and Business, working with students of all abilities. That can vary from building confidence in core concepts, to those aiming for top grades and competitive university courses.
Each session is tailored to the individual student. Some students need support closing gaps in knowledge, particularly in key foundations such as data analysis, evaluation skills, or quantitative methods. Others are already secure in the content but need help refining exam technique, structuring answers effectively, and understanding exactly how to access the highest marks.
A key focus of my teaching is exam performance. Having achieved A* grades myself, and with years of experience as a Head of Economics and Outstanding classroom teacher, I have a very clear understanding of what exam boards are looking for and how to translate understanding into marks. This often makes the difference between a good student and a top-grade student.
Above all, I aim to make lessons engaging, focused and confidence-building. Students should leave each session feeling clearer, more capable, and more in control of their subject than when they arrived.
