About Kieran
I am a very relaxed and outgoing person, with lots of different hobbies and interests. I love to try and connect with my students because I believe that if we have a good connection it will benefit both teaching and learning so much.
Probably the most important thing about me is that I love teaching. Being able to support students with their work, having a chat with them when they might need it, and just being there for them are some of the reasons teaching is such a huge passion of mine. I absolutely love it. I always try to be engaging with my lessons, being enthusiastic and positive, but always maintaining a calm approach to my teaching.

During a lesson, I will always have a chat to the student, make them feel welcome and try and understand how they feel on that day. Every day is different and having a quick chat always helps me understand where the student is at and how I might approach teaching them for that lesson.
I often use short games related to the topic we're doing to get warmed up, and so we don't just have to focus on content for the whole lesson. If students need quick brain breaks in the middle of lessons as well, I am always flexible.
When I teach content I am always very positive and patient. Whether I am teaching a new topic or building on foundational knowledge, I will always let the student try a figure out what to do next, always trying to push them that little bit extra. I find especially with maths, students do not learn if they are just taught, they have to learn how to complete the process, and that is what I try to promote. If they get stuck I am always there to support them and continue to help them develop.
