I am student of Degree Science in Education at USM, majoring Math subject and chemistry as my minor, I want to assure you that while I don't have formal teaching certifications, I possess a deep and abiding passion for mathematics, coupled with extensive experience in navigating its complexities. My approach to tutoring math focuses on building a strong foundation and fostering a deep understanding of the concepts, rather than just memorizing formulas. I believe that math can be enjoyable and accessible to everyone with the right approach. Techniques and Teaching Methodology: I start by assessing the student's current understanding of the material and identifying any gaps in their knowledge. I teach students effective problem-solving strategies, breaking down complex problems into smaller, more manageable steps. I use interactive exercises and games to make learning fun and encourage active participation. I emphasize understanding the "why" behind the math, not just the "how." I encourage students to ask questions and explain their reasoning, helping them develop critical thinking skills. Regular feedback and assessment are crucial. I use these to track progress and adjust our approach as needed. I am patient and understanding, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking for help. For math tutoring, lessons typically range from 45 minutes to an hour. This allows enough time to review concepts, work through examples, and practice problem-solving. However, the length can be adjusted based on the student's age, attention span, and specific learning goals. Shorter, more frequent sessions might be more effective for younger students, while older students might benefit from longer, more in-depth lessons. While I don't have formal teaching certifications, I have a strong background in mathematics but I got A+ in SPM and I was helping friends or family with math. I can work with students from elementary school through high school and can provide support in various math subjects, including basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, etc. Whether a student is struggling with a particular concept, needs help preparing for exams, or simply wants to improve their math skills, I can tailor my lessons to meet their specific needs and goals. I am particularly passionate about helping students develop problem-solving skills, preparing for standardized math tests, etc.
