About Amna
Hello, I'm Amna! I'm currently a sixth form student studying heavy essay-based subjects, and I love helping others when it comes to education. I remember how it felt to be a GCSE student, and what it's like to feel overwhelmed by exam pressure or unsure how to write a high-mark answer, which is why I want to support students who are in the same position that I was in not so long ago. I tutor because I genuinely enjoy breaking down tricky concepts and watching someone gain confidence in their own abilities. Whether you're aiming to boost your grades or just need someone to explain things clearly, I'm here to help you reach your goals in a friendly and focused environment. The reason why I tutor English Literature and Religious Studies is because during my time doing GCSEs, I loved these subjects the most as I found them interesting, and I had a lot to write about which made me achieve the high grades I have. You don't always have to love the subject in order to do well in it, it's about knowledge and structure and analytical skills which I love helping students to acknowledge the most.

As an English Literature tutor, my teaching style is friendly, engaging and adapted to each student's needs. My main focus is to break down complex ideas, improve essay structure as well as building strong analytical skills particularly for the AQA exam board. I use active questioning, annotation, and model responses to help students understand texts deeply and confidently tackle exam questions. I cover Macbeth, A Christmas Carol, and An Inspector Calls. My approach to tutoring Religious Studies is clear, focused and exam-focused. I help students understand key beliefs, teachings, and ethical issues by linking them to real-world examples and explaining them in a way that's easy to remember. I also focus heavily on exam technique—especially for the 12 mark questions so students know exactly how to structure high-scoring answers. I tailor my lessons to match the EDEXCEL exam board, covering both Christianity and Islam in depth, along with peace and conflict, crime and punishment, and matters of life and death. These lessons are for students that are doing GCSEs and would like to achieve high grades in Religious Studies and English Literature. Each lesson is around 60 minutes (an hour). In some cases, it may be an hour and ten minutes (1hr,10min) just so we can have a brief overview of the lesson, and to see what else needs working on.
