About María José
I have gained valuable international and professional experience through a Work and Travel program in the United States, where I worked as a server and receptionist, roles that strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I have also worked as a university teaching assistant as part of a community engagement program, which reinforced my commitment to education and service. Over the years, I have developed extensive experience teaching both English and Spanish to native speakers, and I am currently providing psychological therapy to clients in the United States and Ecuador. I strongly believe in the importance of culture, human connection, and empathy, and I am known for being highly dedicated, responsible, and genuinely committed to the people I work with.

I am a Spanish teacher who truly enjoys connecting with people and making learning an engaging and positive experience. Alongside my teaching background, I study Clinical Psychology, which allows me to deeply understand learning processes, individual differences, and the diverse ways students develop skills and confidence. I use this knowledge to adapt my classes to each learner’s needs, pace, and goals, creating a supportive and motivating environment. My lessons are clear, dynamic, and practical, helping students feel comfortable, understood, and capable as they build real communication skills in Spanish for everyday, academic, or professional use.
