About Isai
I have been playing guitar since I was 14 years old, I am now 20 (going on 21) and I have done quite a bit in my rather short lifespan of playing the guitar. I have written a multitude of songs, have played with a number of bands, played a few solo shows at events, opened up for bands, went to music school, and have been teaching for nearly 6 years now. When it comes to teaching, I have a lot of experience, other than teaching guitar, I am currently a middle school teacher and have taught in church to young kids to young adults. Additionally, I do more than play guitar, I play drums and sing. What I do most right now is lead worship at my church, I play guitar and sing. So, one thing I value greatly is the fact that the guitar itself is not the most important thing in my life and is not what I am known for. But, it does open up opportunities and productivity and can still be a big part of your life.

My philosophy when it comes to learning something new or learning to advance in something is to learn how to love what you are learning. Not only do I teach fundamentals of the guitar but also what makes such a great instrument. The genres I specialize in are folk, blues and jazz. Ranging from straight-up beginners to entry-level jazz guitar, you will learn how to get to know your instrument so that you can play whatever you want, yes WHATEVER you want. That sounds kind of intense but you'll know what I mean. A typical lesson plan would be 45 minutes to 1 hour classes two to three times a week, and can be either in person or online through Zoom or FaceTime, depending on your preference. Long story short, if you like blues and want to play like John Mayer, Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan, or if you like jazz and want to play like Wes Montgomery or George Benson, or if you like folk and want to play like Hozier or Noah Kahan, then I might be the teacher for you.
