I had 10 years of past experience in maths.if possibility I did smart work in my subject, for example I will take one of the polynomial p(x)=y now my question is in the given which variable is the independent variable?
Now answer is independent variable is x dependent variable is y.
Let's I explain for example p(x)=2x+3 =y than x=5
P(5)=2(5)+3=13 we substitute x value and we get y value so x is independent y is dependent
