About Mark
Born into a musical family in Muswell Hill, North London I found a passion for music from a very early age. I started learning guitar around my 10th birthday, having already learnt some piano and basic music theory, the Guitar came rather naturally to me. I was fortunate that my Father was a great guitar player, giving me plenty of inspiration to want to learn myself and be like him! After coming across bands like Avenged Sevenfold and The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, my passion for Guitar kept growing and is still growing to this day! I'd lock myself away for hours at a time, trying my level best to sound like the great Guitar players I idolised, constantly finding something new I wanted to learn. Cutting a long story short, I spent my teens playing in bands and writing music. I had a great guitar teacher who helped me unlock a real understanding of the instrument so that I could teach myself. It's certainly because of this very important figure in my life that I decided to start teaching and I hope that I can share the knowledge that he gave to me. I studied music performance at both college and university having decided very early on that this is what I wanted to do with my life. Fast forward to now, I still love the craft and find myself still constantly learning new things as world music develops. I started teaching in 2022 and I hope to share and inspire this passion for music in others, using the skills I have picked up over the years.

A typical 1 hour lesson will involve 5-10 minutes discussing current goals, projects, catching up from previous lessons etc and how we can shape the lesson to cater for you. Using a wide variety of lesson resources I have catalogued, we'll look at music theory, technique, songwriting and general musicianship and how to apply your understanding of these things effectively so that we can get the best out of your playing! Using software like Guitar Pro and Fathom, you'll be able to take the lesson away with you. Exercises I'll have prepared in pdf using Guitar Pro and going back over the lesson using Fathom you'll be able to make sure you get the most out of your lessons! By doing things this way we maximise time spent playing and less time spent waiting for me to scribble, not to mention trying to remember that one thing I said but can't quite remember. Lessons are aimed at all ages and skill levels, during the taster lesson we can work out how best I can help with no commitment needed if you decide it's not for you!
