About Calla
I am a guitar tutor with 10 years of experience in band coaching and ensemble leadership. I hold a Bachelor of Music Education with a Guitar Focus. I specialize in guiding students through collaborative playing, arranging covers, and composing original music. Lessons focus on technique, musicality, and creative teamwork. I help learners develop skills for performing in bands, from coordinating with other musicians to refining individual parts. Students gain confidence in both practice and live settings. I provide guidance on starting bands, organizing performances, and even recording demos. My approach balances technical proficiency with creative expression and collaboration. Lessons include exercises in rhythm, harmony, improvisation, and ensemble dynamics. Students learn how to communicate effectively through music and build strong musical synergy. I have worked with learners of all levels, from beginners forming their first bands to advanced players preparing for performances and recordings. Together, we explore arrangement techniques, songwriting, and performance strategies, fostering both skill and confidence. My teaching approach for guitar is supportive, creative, and focused on both skill development and personal expression. I work with students of all levels to build strong technique, musical understanding, and confidence.
I cover essential topics such as Chord Progressions, Music Theory, Improvisation, Sight-Reading, and Musical Expression. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether learning for enjoyment, performance, or creative exploration.
I encourage learners to use music as a tool for stress relief, emotional expression, and self-discovery. This approach helps students connect with the guitar on a personal level.
I provide structured guidance while allowing room for improvisation and experimentation. Students develop technical mastery alongside creativity and musicality.
I am especially effective at supporting learners exploring classical or jazz styles, helping them refine skills and deepen musical understanding.
