About Maria
I am a dedicated and passionate guitar teacher with a strong foundation in music education and a diverse background in performance and composition. Currently pursuing my MMus (Hons) in Popular Music Performance at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music, I specialise in Music Education, making me well-equipped to nurture the musical talents of aspiring guitarists. My journey in the world of music has taken me on captivating adventures across the UK and Europe. I've had the privilege of sharing my musical expertise both as a session musician and through original projects. This invaluable experience has not only honed my skills but also given me a unique perspective on the world of music. As a Composer, Arranger, and Producer, I understand the importance of fostering a holistic musical approach. I firmly believe that music is not just about playing notes but about channelling one's creative expression through various disciplines. I'm passionate about guiding my students to explore their full potential, helping them see music as a boundless realm where creativity knows no limits. My teaching experience ranges from working with students as young as 6 to 15, but I'm more than happy to welcome students of all ages and backgrounds. I tailor my lessons to each individual's needs and aspirations, ensuring a personalised and enriching learning experience. In my guitar lessons, my primary focus is on tailoring each student's learning experience to suit their unique needs, abilities, and musical preferences. I understand that every guitarist is different, and I embrace this diversity by customising my approach for each individual. I'm dedicated to empowering my students to become independent learners who can harness their knowledge and apply it to their own musical passions. I believe that learning should be an enjoyable journey, and I'm committed to making sure my students have fun while playing music. Lessons are highly flexible, and I adapt them to the specific needs of the student. Whether you're an aspiring guitarist looking to master the fretboard, improve your technique, or expand your musical vocabulary, I have the tools and techniques to help you succeed. Together, we'll explore and learn songs that align with your musical tastes, ensuring that the learning process remains engaging and relevant to you. I conduct most of my lessons on a one-on-one basis, as I've found this to be the most effective way to keep students engaged and motivated. Beyond mastering the guitar, we'll also dive into other music-related concepts such as songwriting, music production, sound design, and music theory. I believe that a well-rounded musical education goes beyond just playing the guitar, and I'm here to guide you in your holistic musical development.

Maria's been my guitar guru for three awesome years now. I'm a singer/songwriter, and I wanted to level up my guitar game for live gigs. What's cool about Maria is she's all about what I want to learn. No boring stuff forced on me. I've got ADHD and dyslexia, so learning's a bit wild, but Maria's patience is next level. She keeps me in the zone, which can be a real challenge. Big shoutout to her for making guitar lessons fun and tailored just for me!
