I have been a professional guitar player and teacher for 35 years. I am a PhD candidate with a Master's degree (Distinction) and extensive experience as a studio session player in Nashville and the UK. I have also had extensive experience teaching in school for many years.

As a professional guitarist and experienced tutor, I am pleased to offer tailored guitar lessons suited for all skill levels.
Styles covered include a wide range of genres:
Jazz: Delve into jazz standards, improvisation techniques, modes, chromatic scales, and chord scales. Also, advanced technique and drop two voicings, enclosures, bebop lines, and soloing over complex chord changes.
Rock: Master iconic riffs, bending techniques, trills, hammer-ons, pull-offs, pentatonic and blues scales, and develop a unique sound.
Metal: Conquer complex solos and techniques, including power chords, dropped tuning, 7 and 8-string guitar performance, Phrygian dominant and diminished scales, two-hand tapping, sweep picking, and string skipping, encapsulating the essence of metal guitar.
Country: Learn essential country guitar techniques and riffs, such as pedal steel-style double stops, slides, chicken picking, banjo rolls, B-bends, and behind-the-nut bending, plus chord voicings and the Nashville Number System.
The comprehensive curriculum encompasses various topics to provide a well-rounded musical education:
Songs: learn songs by popular pop, rock, metal, funk, soul and jazz artists.
Scales & Modes: Deepen your understanding of minor, major and blues pentatonic, melodic minor modes, along with the CAGED method to enhance improvisation skills.
Technique: Improve your playing with strumming patterns, alternate, hybrid, and sweep-picking techniques.
Arpeggios: Master the effective use of arpeggios in your playing.
Composition Techniques: Acquire the tools for music creation, including structure, form, binary and ternary, melody, harmony, and rhythm expression.
Sight Reading: Enhance your music reading ability for improved learning and performance avenues.
