About Safir
I have been a multi-instrumentalist musician since 2007. My training has been shaped by several different worlds: music school, conservatory, and then the musicology department at university. Alongside my academic career, I have played in a number of bands (some of which are internationally known), produced albums and soundtracks for films and video games, and regularly take on transcription and composition commissions.
Today, I welcome you to my home studio (in the Fontaine-Lestang neighbourhood) or via video chat to share this experience with you.
What makes me unique? I also have a degree in philosophy. In practical terms, this means that my method is to learn from you rather than adopt a rigid approach. I take the time to analyse how you work, listen to what is holding you back and what you aspire to, in order to build a tailor-made teaching approach that really suits you.

About the lesson

My course focuses on three areas: practice, composition and improvisation. We will develop rhythm, harmony and melody. In addition, we will alternate between playing what you like and discovering new pieces/concepts/exercises.
For beginners:
We will start with practical lessons: different guitar tunings, how to read tabs, basic chords and scales, and a repertoire of classics.
For experienced players:
I will help you break through the plateau of stagnation: moving beyond the pentatonic scale, composing with exotic modes (Arabic scale, Ukrainian scale), technique (sweep, tapping), developing your own personality on the instrument, etc.
We can dedicate sessions to broader objectives, such as comparing and setting up amplifiers to shape your own sound, programming drum parts, or composing for violins; many guitarists are self-producers and will benefit from these cross-disciplinary skills.
