About Ruby
I hold a Bachelor’s in Guitar Performance and Music Theory and have 6 years of experience teaching students at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. My philosophy emphasizes both technical skill and expressive musicality, allowing learners to progress confidently while exploring their personal style. I design lessons that are engaging, structured, and tailored to the student’s goals, strengths, and interests.
I teach fingerstyle, chords, scales, improvisation, repertoire, and performance skills, integrating exercises that develop technical precision, rhythm, and musical expression. My lessons balance skill-building with creativity, fostering confidence, independence, and a strong connection to music.
Beyond teaching, I perform, compose, and explore new styles to enrich my instruction. Witnessing students evolve from learning basic chords to performing complex pieces with expressive flair is deeply fulfilling. Advanced learners refine musical expression, stylistic versatility, complex solos, composition, and live performance readiness. I provide detailed feedback, structured exercises, and practice strategies that encourage continuous improvement and musical enjoyment.
