About Mara
I have 10 years of teaching experience and hold a PhD in Guitar Performance. Over the years, I have worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels, helping them build confidence and enjoyment through music. Teaching guitar allows me to share my passion in a meaningful and rewarding way.
My teaching philosophy focuses on patience, consistency, and practical learning. I help students understand musical concepts clearly while developing strong technical foundations. At the same time, I encourage individuality so learners can discover their own musical voice.
Seeing students grow from beginners into capable musicians is one of the most satisfying parts of my work. I enjoy supporting learners as they overcome challenges and achieve personal goals. My aim is to create lessons that inspire growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.

My guitar lessons are built around helping students enjoy music while steadily improving their skills. We work on chord transitions, rhythm accuracy, fingerstyle techniques, tone shaping, picking control, solo development, and musical expression through practical and engaging activities. Every lesson combines structure with creativity so learning feels rewarding.
I use song-based learning, technique exercises, listening tasks, and guided practice to help students grow with confidence. Learners are encouraged to explore different musical styles while strengthening their understanding of timing, dynamics, and performance skills. Lessons remain supportive and focused on long-term improvement.
Whether a student is learning for personal enjoyment, performance, or skill development, lessons are tailored to individual goals. I provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and achievable milestones throughout the journey. My goal is to help every learner become a confident and expressive guitarist.
