My formal training at the Curtis Institute of Music shaped a technical mindset that I now apply to helping students master FINGERPICKING and electric technique. I prioritize tuning and maintenance alongside lead guitar skills, ensuring everyone understands the mechanics behind the sound.
9 years of studio work informs how I approach these concepts, keeping the focus strictly on measurable auditory output. After working with a diverse range of musicians, I have learned that clear, no nonsense guidance produces the best results. "Silence gives way to the hum of an amplifier during our first few minutes, where I perform a rapid diagnostic check to map out your current abilities. This initial assessment allows me to build a lesson plan that addresses your specific gaps in knowledge while we explore complex blues progressions or technical exercises.
My background at the Curtis Institute of Music allows me to break down difficult concepts into manageable parts, leveraging 9 years of experience to keep our time focused and productive. Because I hold a BMus in Guitar Performance, I emphasize the importance of ear training, which acts as the foundation for everything we do. We move through the material with steady momentum, building your technique until you hear the improvement in your own playing, which is how I measure our progress."
