About Greg

Hi. Music is my passion - it has defined me since I can remember. I have been playing music since I was 7 and have been teaching for the past 10 years. I play, sing and write music semi-professionally and I mentor children in forming bands and writing songs. Since finishing a highly successful selling career in Information Technology, I am now looking to grow my lesson base and share my passion with more people. I regularly play and sing in two bands - a party covers band and a rock originals band. My originals band is published on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc with some 30 original compositions at time of writing. I teach guitar, bass, keyboards to exam grade standards and have many successes to date. I can also teach singing, and I coach youngsters in playing in bands and writing songs. I have a 7 part video course on Song Writing I have recorded for the charity I work with.

I've had guitar lessons with Greg for 7 years. I had taught myself basic chords, but reached a block and could go no further. With great patience Greg raised my playing and musical awareness so I can now confidently take the lead in a band setting and regularly perform in public. I have, under Greg's tutorage, been able to master a range of electric guitar techniques to confidently play rock, blues, soul, funk and jazz in covers bands.

I came to recognise that while I could learn basic technique from the great range of magazines and videos on line I could only learn music and develop listening skills with help. Indeed, the most invaluable part of my musical journey with Greg has been developing the ability to listen to what is going on within a band setting at the same time as concentrating on playing my own guitar!

Greg has had the patience to get inside my musical mind and unlock paths that I didn't know existed. A great and thoroughly enjoyable journey.
