About Orla
I am a dedicated Physics tutor with more than five years of experience and a degree in Space and Planetary Science. I specialize in preparing high school students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations. My teaching centers on mechanics, electricity, and waves, which form the foundation of much of Physics. I use practical experiments to bring abstract concepts to life. Derivations are also a major part of my lessons, as they help students see the logical structure of Physics. Past paper analysis is another key tool I rely on to sharpen exam technique. I ensure my students get plenty of practice under exam-style conditions. My approach is structured but also supportive, encouraging students to ask questions and stay engaged. I firmly believe that every student is capable of mastering Physics with the right guidance. Progress comes step by step, and each breakthrough builds confidence. In teaching Physics, I follow a systematic method that makes complex topics easier to understand. I focus on key areas like mechanics, electricity, thermodynamics, gas laws, and heat transfer. Each lesson is broken down into clear steps, so students build confidence one concept at a time. I like to use experiments and simple gadgets to make theory more practical and engaging. My “experimentalist” style brings energy and real-world relevance to learning. I also take time to go through derivations, ensuring that equations make sense beyond memorization. Past papers are used to sharpen exam skills and improve performance. Feedback is consistent, helping students track their progress and focus on areas for growth. Energy and its transformations are at the heart of my teaching, as they link together many different Physics topics. I make lessons interactive, adapting to the student’s needs and pace. Questions are always encouraged, no matter how basic. With clarity, practice, and support, Physics becomes a subject where students can truly excel.
