About Valeria
My favourite thing about tutoring is ,unquestionably , working with students who are struggling for reasons that are out of their control, such as learning disabilities, and watching them grow, flourish and learn to love the subjects they are studying. One of the greatest betrayals of schools in the current atmosphere is their inability to teach struggling students how to learn. I am Valeria, an A level student with a passion for empowering children with learning disabilities and pushing them to succeed. I am studying Mathematics, English literature, and fine Art, and am also a fluent Russian speaker. I have done extensive volunteer work in London schools, for both neurotypical and disabled children, and worked in several Art programs for disadvantaged children. Outside my studies I work as a part time freelance artist and illustrator. Children who act out and struggle in school are often just not receiving the correct support, and I want to work with these children to let them achieve what they are truly capable of.
