About Hashem
I am a current A-Level student studying Maths, Chemistry and Physics, with a strong understanding of the GCSE syllabus and the challenges students face, having recently experienced these courses myself. Over the past year, I have tutored primary school students preparing for the 11+ exam through weekly one-to-one lessons, helping them build confidence, improve their understanding, and successfully achieve their goals.
I am also a mentoring prefect at my grammar school, where I was selected to support students who were struggling with Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Through this role, I have received excellent feedback from both students and staff, and my school reports have consistently recognised the positive impact I have had by helping others understand difficult topics and develop confidence in their abilities.
One of the reasons I enjoy tutoring is because I understand what it feels like to struggle with challenging concepts. Many topics only became clear to me through practice, perseverance, and learning from my mistakes. Because of this, I can relate to students when they make common errors, identify misconceptions quickly, and explain ideas in a way that is easier to understand. I believe mistakes are an important part of learning and aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to strengthen their foundations, improve confidence, prepare for exams, or challenge themselves further. I focus on building a strong understanding of the fundamentals before applying knowledge to exam-style questions, helping students develop both their problem-solving skills and confidence.
My teaching approach uses clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, and regular questioning to check understanding. I encourage students to learn from mistakes by analysing where they went wrong and developing strategies to avoid similar errors in the future. This helps students become more independent and confident learners.
Lessons typically last around 1 hour, providing enough time to introduce new concepts, practise skills, and review areas that need improvement. However, I am happy to adapt lesson length depending on the student’s age, goals, and requirements.
I offer lessons for primary school students preparing for the 11+ exam, as well as GCSE students studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Whether a student needs support with difficult topics, wants to improve their grades, or simply wants to build confidence in their abilities, I aim to provide personalised lessons that help them reach their academic goals.
