About Kyana
Hello! I’m a dedicated and patient tutor graduating high school this June and starting CEGEP this fall. I’ve always loved English and have maintained over 90% in the subject, including a 98% last year. I also love sports, and I believe that learning is more fun and effective when it connects to your interests. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit you — whether that means being calm and focused or energetic and motivating. (This lesson is for any student in elementary school & students in Grades 7 to 8.) At the beginning, I take time to understand what the student is currently studying and what grade they’re in. I also ask the student and their parents about any specific struggles they face. To pinpoint challenges, I do a small assessment or quiz. This helps me tailor lessons exactly to the student’s needs. I also believe learning is more effective when it connects to what you’re passionate about. For example, if a student loves soccer, I might use texts or topics related to soccer to practice English skills. With today’s technology and shorter attention spans, focusing on subjects the student enjoys helps keep them interested, engaged, and motivated. What’s better than learning English by talking about something you love? Teaching Methodology My lessons mix clear explanations, practical exercises, and interactive activities. I adjust my pace to the student’s style and encourage questions to make sure they fully understand and feel confident. I make sure you actively participate because lessons are more effective and fun when you’re involved, not just listening.
