About Andrew

I want you to know that when you work with me, you're not just getting someone who knows math—you’re getting someone who’s deeply committed to helping you succeed. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how people learn, how to make ideas click, and how to create an environment where you feel safe to ask questions and grow. I don’t take shortcuts. I show up prepared, I adapt to your needs, and I care about your understanding—not just your grade. If something doesn’t make sense, I’ll find a new way to explain it. If you’re stuck, I’ll help you untangle the knot. This isn’t just a side gig for me—it’s something I take seriously, because I know how life-changing the right support can be. You can trust me to guide you with clarity, patience, and integrity every step of the way.

1. I Care About More Than Just the Right Answer
I focus on deep understanding, not memorization. My goal is to help you truly get math so you can apply it confidently, not just on tests but in real thinking.

2. I Bring Passion and Creativity to the Table
Whether it’s using medieval-themed math problems or building animatronic robots, I know how to make learning engaging and meaningful. Math doesn’t have to be dry—it can be fun, imaginative, and even a little epic.

3. I Know What It Feels Like to Be 99% There—and I Help You Close That 1% Gap
I understand the frustration of being almost there. I’m patient, detail-oriented, and committed to helping you bridge the gap between “I sort of get it” and true mastery.

4. I Build a Safe Space for Thinking and Mistakes
I believe in Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms—where students are challenged in supportive ways, and mistakes are seen as steps forward, not setbacks.

5. I See You as a Whole Person, Not Just a Student
I take the time to understand your interests, your goals, and your unique thinking style. Tutoring with me is a personalized experience—never one-size-fits-all.
