About Gary
I have a passion for STEM education and have graduated will multiple degrees including majors in Biology and Mathematics in addition to a minor in Chemistry. I am never judgmental, always encouraging throughout my sessions, and want to share my own educational experience with others.
I have over two years of tutoring experience from my previous institution and have worked with various students of multiple backgrounds. I have experienced tutoring both in-person and remotely with sessions being both one-to-one or group sessions. After each session I provide, I reflect upon the outcomes and seek ways to improve the sessions overall experience.

I believe the first thing that is essential in any tutoring session is a quick ice breaker regarding desired outcomes from the session and to ease up any uncertainty a student has regarding their confidence in learning the subject. I always assess the prior academic knowledge a student possesses in order to formulate a customized plan that will help them achieve their full potential.
I try to provide as much support during my first session and in the future inform students to come prepared during the sessions with questions and content material to maximize the full benefits and time of the session. Throughout the session, I always take time for the student to ask questions they may have as content material is covered. I allow the student to attempt the questions independently and then work through it with them once more. I utilize various educational methods including written, oral, and verbal to enhance the experience and provide multiple resources where students determine which was most impactful.
As the session nears to an end, I ensure that the content material is reiterated and allow for any further final questions.
