About Lucas
Guitarist of Minas Gerais instrumental music and winner of the Young Instrumentalist BDMG 2016 award, Lucas de Mello studied with Wilson Lopes, Felipe Vilas Boas, André Limão, among others. In addition to having attended the Tatuí Conservatory (2013), he holds a bachelor's degree in Popular Music at UFMG (2015-2018). He has played with names such as Toninho Horta and Yuri Popoff, and in 2017 he was one of those selected to perform at the Savassi Festival for the Novos Talentos do Jazz contest with the group LDM Quarteto, with whom he has also performed on the Ensaio Aberto program at the Minas Gerais Museum. and Metal from Gerdau.
In 2017, he participated in the Universal Music Workshop of Itiberê Zwarg in Belo Horizonte during the Afrolatina Week of FEA. In his first work, the EP “Verde” (2016), Lucas presents some of his compositions and a little of his style of playing. During his graduation, he was a musician with a scholarship at the UFMG Geraes Big Band and currently participates in the groups Camila Rocha Quarteto, LDM Quarteto, Prot Quarteto, Outra Coisa, among others, with which he has performed at several festivals such as Savassi Festival, Virada Cultural de Vitória, Jazz de Montanha, and concert halls, as well as recording and producing music in the city of Belo Horizonte, where he lives and works.

I make an assessment of the student's interests and level, regardless of whether he is a beginner or not, and from that point on I pass content in a very practical way, and putting together a simple script, with specific material for each student according to their interests and availability to practice.
Classes can be focused on practice, as they can have a greater theoretical emphasis, too, and who defines this is the student...
I teach classes from beginners who want to play any style, even for experienced musicians who want to deepen and improve their technical level, their rhythmic, harmonic, and melodic perception, and preparation for the music entrance exam.
