About Alessandra
After graduating from high school, I first obtained a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Bologna, then a master's degree in Marine Biology and Ecology at the University of Genoa. I am qualified to teach science in high school, and I am studying to be able to access the chair of mathematics and science of the middle school.
Teaching has always been one of my natural gifts, in fact I have accumulated many years of experience with tutoring. In particular I have worked with middle and high school students, I have led several students to pass the entrance tests for science faculties, and I have also helped some university students to pass their math (Elements of Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Principles of Mathematics, Quantitative Ecology, Mathematical Models) and physics exam. Last year (2021-22) I assisted a student who was preparing the state exam as a private student in study of mathematics (from equations to the study of a function) .
Are you wondering what a marine biologist has to do with math? I actually study cetaceans, but you'd be surprised at how much math is needed when doing research. After 3 wonderful summer months of field work spent collecting data on dolphins and whales, I spend the rest of the year on the PC analyzing these data, meaning: numbers!

I love to teach in a practical and interactive way, focusing on the needs of the student. My aim is to find what is stalling you and help you overcome the difficulty, providing you with the necessary tools to be able to work independently and, of course, achieve your goals (whether they are to understand a topic, improve your grades or ace a test).
I believe in the importance of reasoning and critical thinking, so during the lesson there will never be a moment when your input is not desired. I will encourage you to participate in the discussion by asking many questions, so do not be afraid to ask some yourself!
My lessons are aimed at students of all ages, especially middle and high schools, but also to all students who are preparing for the university entrance exam.
