About Amal
My name is Amal. From a young age, I kept telling myself, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
My undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona began in August 2019. I'm a proud senior at the University of Arizona, double majoring in Public Health and Middle Eastern studies and Arabic.
Majoring in Arabic and Middle East Studies has given me tremendous experience and enough to offer my best effort and expertise. In addition, my experience in the University of Arizona Arabic Language Program provides Arabic lessons to students who wish to learn Arabic. I was fortunate enough to go through this experience, which gave me a lot of experience in the field of the Arabic language.

My name is Amal. From a young age, I kept telling myself, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
While teaching Arabic and studying intensely in the field, I have enjoyed working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. My experience includes teaching at a language institute. I mainly worked with adult learners who were professionals seeking to improve their Arabic for business purposes or individuals interested in learning the language for personal growth.
I understand the significance of introducing students to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and various dialects when teaching Arabic. I strive to build a strong foundation in MSA, the formal language used in media, literature, and official communications across the Arab world. This ensures that students can read, write, and comprehend Arabic at a universal level.
Once students are proficient in MSA, I introduce them to different dialects by incorporating regional variations into our lessons. For instance, I might use audio or video materials featuring speakers from various countries or assign readings that showcase dialect-specific vocabulary and expressions. Furthermore, I encourage discussions about cultural nuances and how they impact language usage. This exposure to multiple dialects augments their understanding of the language, helps them appreciate the diversity within the Arab world, and prepares them for real-life interactions with native speakers from different regions.
To assist students in enhancing their listening comprehension skills in Arabic, I use authentic materials such as news broadcasts, podcasts, and videos. This exposes them to real-life language usage, various accents, and dialects. To make it easier for beginners, I select short clips with clear audio and provide guiding questions or keywords to focus on while listening.
My classes cover Arabic language vocabulary, grammar, and structures. With me, you can start with the basics, such as learning the Arabic alphabet, reading, writing, speaking Arabic and immersing yourself in daily practice.
