I employ an inquiry-based teaching strategy in lessons to encourage learners to be the drivers of their education. I do this through virtual games, manipulatives, and stories. These lessons are for elementary-aged students.
A typical lesson plan begins with a quick 2-3 minute review of the previous lesson. Then, we explore the next math concept your child is ready to learn. After exploring, I directly instruct different strategies to understand the concept we're exploring. We continue learning the concept through the strategy that makes the most sense to the learner. Near the end of each lesson, I provide an exit ticket to inform me of the progress we made during the lesson. The exit ticket provides data to influence future lessons.
