About Yijun
I am Yijun, a native Mandarin speaker originally from Shanghai. I have an MFA degree in Scene Design from Carnegie Mellon University. Luckily for me, I am a set and production designer for theater and film, where I learned and practiced English in my free time. I have worked in the entertainment industry in China and the United States, where clear cross-cultural communication was essential every day. As someone who learned English as a second language myself, I know firsthand how frustrating and how rewarding the process can be. That experience makes me a more empathetic and patient teacher.
