About Joshua
I’m a mathematics graduate with a strong foundation in mathematics and problem-solving, and I have also passed Actuarial Exams FM and P. I understand that math can feel challenging, so I strive to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
I’m reliable, prepared, and committed to helping each student succeed. I tutor high school math up to AP Calculus BC. My approach is patient, clear, and personalized to each student’s learning style. I focus on helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorizing formulas.
A typical lesson starts by identifying areas where the student needs help, followed by a clear explanation and step-by-step examples. We then work through practice problems together before the student tries similar problems independently. I also share shortcuts, problem-solving strategies, and test-taking techniques when appropriate.
What sets me apart is my ability to break complicated math concepts into simple, manageable steps. My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and develop the skills to solve problems independently.
I offer tutoring in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and AP Calculus AB/BC.
