About Javier
I've been singing for more than 20 years. I studied voice performance in my home country (Spain), 4 years in Brazil (Souza Lima Faculdade de Musica) and I have a dual degree from Berklee College of Music (Voice Performance and Film Scoring). I received several scholarships and awards and I have experience performing, recording, auditioning and working with professionals from some of the best music institutions in the world.

My focus is to work on the sound, the proper technique of singing and to prepare the student to develop his/her vocal capacities.
I graduated in 2018 from Berklee College of with a dual degree in Music in Voice Performance and Film Scoring achieving Summa Cum Laude honors. I was a awarded the Latin American scholarship after my Berklee audition, the SGAE scholarship in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and the Alf Clausen Award 2018. Prior to my studies at Berklee I studied Voice Performance 4 years at Conservatorio Souza Lima in São Paulo (Brazil).
I've been singing in rock and pop bands for more than 20 years and the last five years I've focused my studies in jazz and brazilian music. In addition, I've been teaching voice since I started at Berklee, achieving great results for my students.
When it comes to singing lessons the styles I focus on are mainly jazz, pop, rock, musical theatre, brazilian music, r&b, blues, folk and fusion. I also teach songwriting, arranging, production, music theory and composition. I've also prepared students for auditions, performances or specific shows.
To start, I usually have a friendly talk with the student to know more about his/her background and goals. Every student is different so it's essential to adapt to the student's needs. Once this is set, we get to work!
Currently, I'm dividing my time between my voice students, my film scoring gigs, my prog rock band Nodus and additional voice gigs for other projects.
I enjoy a lot teaching and helping students to grow musically. The voice for me is the most beautiful instrument because of one simple reason: it has words. We, singers, have this powerful tool to communicate and express our feelings, good news is: Everyone can learn how to do it.

Javier es un profesor con mucha paciencia y dedicación para su alumno/a. Además de tener una técnica de enseñanza muy efectiva para los que nunca hemos cantado, ha tenido una gran formación en la prestigiosa universidad de música Berklee College of Music y eso me dio confianza para tomar clases con él. Me gusta que conoce varios estilos, por lo que, el repertorio es variado. Siento que he mejorado mucho en muy poco tiempo y las clases me motivan cada vez más para seguir practicando canto.
Además de ser una persona encantadora, Javi tiene una experiencia gigante y una capacidad asombrosa para enseñar. ¡Recomendadísimo!

Javier es un excelente profesor! Nos conocimos cuando él daba clases en USA y desde entonces he estado trabajando mi voz con él. Me encantan sus clases y se nota que sabe muy bien lo que hace. Me ha dado un montón de ejercicios y canciones de jazz (que en mi vida habría conocido) y no puedo estar más satisfecho.
Javier es un profesor increíble! Con muy pocas clases ya empiezo a notas los resultados en mi voz. Además es muy paciente y las clases son muy agradables. Totalmente recomendable!!
