I am a University of Illinois at Chicago graduate. I have 40 years of teaching experience, as well as a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I was also a certified teacher before retirement. I taught kindergarten through ninth grades in my career.

My name is Johnny R. I am a UIC graduate and a certified teacher who has taught grades kindergarten through 9th grade for over 25 years and have privately tutored students for over the last 20. I have a certification in elementary and middle school education. My classes are designed to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and equip kids with the tools they need to thrive in an evolving academic landscape. I currently tutor elementary math, middle school math, Algebra I, and Geometry. I also tutor in the areas of grammar, reading, writing and study skills. I feel confident teaching students in an exciting and comprehensive way. I definitely believe in positive reinforcement to develop self-esteem and motivation to encourage completion of assignments given. I have helped several students in this time and have a special talent for encouraging students to reach their full potential. I enjoy working with students who are exceptional or need patience and inspiration to pursue excellence. I also enjoy seeing students change from an "F" or "D "student into an "A "or "B" student within an approximate 2-month period. I look forward to beginning the building blocks for success working with your child.
