About Emily
Regardless of age or experience, I hold all of my students to a fair standard. What this means to me is that I expect them to take the work seriously, even if they don’t necessarily take themselves seriously. My public speaking students have been very successful in competitions, my acting students have often been cast as their preferred roles, and my non-competitive public speaking students gradually gain confidence with every lesson. I want all of my students to learn that words matter and that the perspective they have to offer means something significant.

I form personalized OR group lessons based on the interest and needs of the student. I take the time to learn their personalities, what THEY think they need to improve on, and what I think they can improve upon. Whether it’s coaching public speaking, improv, or acting, I ground all lessons in the foundation of effective communication. As an example, if a student were auditioning for a musical, I will have them SPEAK the lyrics of their song. This allows us to strip away the melody that has been beaten into their brain and make room for the student to understand what the character is really saying and why.
