About Sam
Playing, writing and performing music has always been the best way for me to express myself, process personal life circumstances, and build connections with those within and outside of the music industry. I am so grateful for what my years of learning music in all forms has given me. As a musician myself, I understand the importance of learning new skills and developing existing techniques. I have always loved singing, and would often find myself singing with family or friends. Going on to study vocals at university gave me tools to home in on key influences and styles that I now take into my professional career, and feel that I am able to offer good guidance to others in finding these elements of singing for themselves. This partnered with my knowledge of the techniques of singing means I feel I can provide tailored and detailed vocal lessons. I did not learn piano in a "traditional" setting, learning lots by ear and by videos that I found online, and now feel I can offer a different style of teaching to one you may find in a "traditional" place of learning.

Your sessions will follow a student led learning approach. Students will decide their main goals and desires. I will then tailor the sessions to meet the students' needs. I use a laid back approach in my teaching. I hope for this to help us build a strong teacher/student relationship. I offer 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions. I offer lessons to students of all ages and abilities. I graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music with a First Class Honours degree in Vocal Performance, and feel comfortable offering personalised vocal lessons and coaching within contemporary styles and genres. I also have experience in teaching children beginner piano lessons, as well as teaching singers how to accompany themselves on piano whilst singing.
