About Jaime
I am a guitarist just arriving to Los Angeles, California. I am originally from Chile, but have lived in the east coast for a long time now. I am fluent in Spanish and English.
My career started when I first arrived in this country, where the guitar became my best friend and companion while I was still learning English. It became my identity in school since I was participating in jazz band at the time and playing with my jazz band friends in outside bands. As time went on, I took a few classes from Peabody Conservatory of music in Baltimore, MD. That prepared my main studies which happened at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, MA. There I graduated with a degree in Performance. After my time at Berklee, I decided to come back to DC, where I continued to play with my bands, and started to take different kinds of jobs, including being a studio musician for some local producers. I also started teaching more seriously in order to keep myself afloat. One of the jobs I started doing, was playing with pit orchestras around town, taking part in many musical theater productions, including premieres of shows. Through the years I've been lucky to tour with great acts in many different genres, including metal, country, rock, blues, hip hop, pop. I also have been playing with a tango orchestra in the east coast. As of late, I've just completed a 2 year national tour for a Broadway show about Gloria Estefan , in which I served as assistant music director and guitarist, where I also played the Cuban Tres. I look forward to continue navigating the landscape, learning and growing as an artist and teacher!

Taking lessons with me is a very personalized experience. I take into account your needs and your aspirations in order to forge a path forward that works for you. I try to utilize the music that you listen to in order to teach musical concepts, which inspire you to practice. Our lessons can be as intense as a full analysis of a piece of music, to a simple relaxed atmosphere at your own pace. We try to touch on subjects like ear training, music theory, composition, techniques, improvisation, playing in group, and many other topics that make a complete musician.
I'm easy going and I have experience teaching from elementary school kids to adults. Group and private lessons.
