About Emily
I want to teach German because I believe that language learning should be fun and a way to expand your mind and experiences. I've found first hand that knowing another language opens up a new culture and enables you to engage with more of the world, something that native speakers definitely enjoy! Language learning in the UK is on the decline, with fewer people choosing to study languages beyond GCSEs or even to this level. I personally think that there should be no pressure when learning languages, you should have fun with it and learn at your own pace, and really enjoy getting involved with the language and culture. I hope to encourage more people to choose languages at school and to revive the subject, but my ultimate goal is for people to enjoy language learning, as I do.

I have been in teaching/tutoring positions since I was studying my A-Levels over 6 years ago. I will tailor the lessons to your individual needs, focusing on grammar, pronunciation, vocab etc. and create a personal plan for your learning. Having taken a 'Future Teachers Programme' at school, I understand how to approach each students needs, and I'm happy to teach all levels and ages (it's never too early or late to learn a language!). My main experience as a tutor was working at Explore Learning, tutoring Maths and English to students aged 4-14, where I learnt many of my teaching skills. I am currently working as an English Language Assistant in Austria, therefore I am also currently teaching as well as living first hand in the country of the language I'm teaching you!
