About Clyne

I’m a graduate of UCLA’s Fielding School of Public Health and currently attending Pepperdine, where I’m studying psychology to become a therapist. I’ve spent the past few years tutoring students in writing and math, while also working in behavioral therapy—so supporting people in their growth, both academically and personally, has become a huge part of my life. Outside of school and tutoring, I spend most of my free time with my two beautiful Staffordshire Terriers, Bossa and Blu. They’re friendly, gentle, and obsessed with cuddles—which honestly matches the kind of energy I bring into my work too: calm, patient, and people-first.

My tutoring style is built around flexibility, intention, and trust. I don’t follow scripts—I follow students. Whether we’re working on writing or math, I center each session around how the student learns, not how the subject is typically taught.

In writing, I focus on helping students clarify their thinking—not just improve their grammar or formatting. We break down prompts together, map arguments, shift structure, and sharpen voice. Whether it’s creative writing, essays, or personal statements, I make sure students sound like themselves—confident, clear, and capable. Writing should feel expressive, not performative. My job is to make the process less intimidating and more empowering.

In math, I approach every topic as a conversation. I don’t move forward until a student truly understands what’s happening—not just how to “get it right.” We talk through logic, identify where things get confusing, and work together until problem-solving feels intuitive. I don’t expect students to learn in one specific way, and I don’t expect them to hide when they don’t understand. I create space where it’s safe to pause, ask questions, and slow down if needed.

My background in behavioral therapy has made me especially attuned to students who think differently, carry academic anxiety, or simply haven’t had someone meet them where they are. I recognize that learning isn’t linear. Some students need more structure. Others need more flexibility. Some need more confidence than correction. I adapt to all of it.

Outside of sessions, I dedicate time to learning what works best for each student. Whether that means reviewing lesson plans, rethinking strategies, or customizing materials, I take the time to ensure each session is personalized. This is more than just a job to me—each student matters, and I take their growth seriously.
