Hello!
My teaching method is to provide the frame before painting the picture. Meaning, I teach the concept and reason for learning a topic, before teaching the optimal methods to learn it.
A typical lesson plan has the topic, problems that range in levels of difficulty, and chances for feedback. Learning will be reinforced throughout the lesson, and answers won't be given away just because the concept is not immediately understood. Depending on length of lesson, breaks of a couple minutes may be allowed at the guardian's discretion.
I use a couple methods to engage my listeners, one of them being Mnemonic devices. For example, I taught my niece about which parts of the fraction are the numerator and denominator, by using "it's a New Day" (N and D being the memory aid).
My lessons can be for K-6 math. These are the subjects I excelled in while in school, and know that I can teach them with confidence.
