About Leagh

As an English language tutor, I bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and dedication to my role. With a solid background in linguistics and language education, I am equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to guide students effectively on their language learning journey. My approach is rooted in research-backed methodologies and best practices in language acquisition, ensuring that each lesson is thoughtfully designed to maximize student engagement and progress. I understand the challenges that come with learning a new language and am committed to providing a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks and make mistakes as part of the learning process. With a passion for languages and a genuine desire to see my students succeed, I am dedicated to helping them build confidence, proficiency, and fluency in English, ultimately opening doors to new opportunities and enriching their lives both academically and personally.

About the lesson

I have a degree in Linguistics with TESOL, as well as a CELTA Certificate obtained online, so I have plenty of experience with online teaching. A typical lesson lasts 45 minutes to an hour, but this can be adjusted according to the needs of the student. I have experience teaching adults of varying English language levels, from ages 18 to 65, from a variety of different countries and backgrounds.

In my approach to teaching English as a foreign language, I prioritize creating an immersive and interactive learning environment tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of my students. I believe in employing a communicative and student-centered methodology where learners are actively engaged in real-life language situations, fostering both fluency and accuracy. Utilizing a variety of multimedia resources, including audiovisual materials, authentic texts, and interactive online platforms, I aim to enhance language acquisition through meaningful context and practical application. Additionally, I integrate task-based learning activities and project-based assignments to promote collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students.
