I have taught middle school math for 5 years (both in person and remotely) and have finally understood how to make math fun and easy to understand. I use productive struggle techniques while teaching my lessons because I understand the importance of using prior knowledge to help solve current problems. A typical lesson in my 7th grade math class would look like this: students are welcomed to class and I have a photo on the board. I read off a paragraph describing what’s happening in the photo to launch the lesson and engage the students. Then I have students get into random groups and work with one another on a series or problems that have been thin sliced to get progressively harder and build on one another. At the end of the lesson I have students take their own meaningful notes.

I have worked side by side Samantha and she is an incredible teacher. Not only does she know the content well, but she explains it in a multitude of ways so students understand it too.
I highly recommend Samantha as a Math Tutor. She has been teaching Middle School Math for the last several years and is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She can assist with your child's current math homework and studying for tests. Sam comes prepared with her own activities to enhance understanding of the concept being taught. I charge $60 for my time plus $20 for the additional work I create for each student. I believe that to get better at a skill, you must practice it. This is why I create individualized packets for students to practice their skills.
