About Sherilynn
Hello! My name is Sherilynn Peng, but you can call me Sheri. I moved to California from out of state to attend college and recently graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor's in Cognitive Sciences and minor in Management. I have always loved learning and education, and I enjoy helping students feel more confident and capable in their studies.
I earned a 35 on the ACT and was named to the Dean’s Honor List. Through my coursework in cognitive science, I learned about the cognitive and neurological processes involved in learning, as well as research-backed study strategies. I apply this knowledge when creating lessons and helping students develop effective study habits. I was also highly involved on campus, which strengthened my communication, leadership, and organizational skills. I am confident in my ability to help students build skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy journaling, listening to podcasts, visiting art museums, trying new coffee shops, and spending time with friends. I’m excited to get to know you, understand your academic goals, and support you throughout your learning journey!

I begin by assessing each student’s current level and identifying any gaps in their understanding. From there, I create a personalized lesson plan tailored to their individual needs, goals, and learning style. Through my coursework, I have studied effective learning from both cognitive and neurological perspectives, and I combine this knowledge with one year of tutoring experience.
My lessons are designed for K–12 students who need academic support, want to get ahead in their studies, or would like to build practical skills that will prepare them for life beyond the classroom.
